Concerns over crime on estate

Residents of a Spalding estate say they’re back to being concerned about anti-social behaviour after an order was lifted.

The Voice ran an article in November 2021 outlining residents concerns of the issue in an area.
Just two months later a Partial Closure Order was placed on a nearby property believed to have been the location of cuckooing, where criminals take advantage of a vulnerable person to use their home for behaviour such as drug dealing.
The residents The Voice spoke to said the police action made a huge difference to Severn Road, but now the order no longer applies, anti-social behaviour is back.
“I’m scared to go out of my own home, I dare not even sit outside,” one resident who wished to remain anonymous said. “We’ve people knocking on doors asking for money.
“There’s numerous drug deals being done.
“One woman picked up her dog’s poo and was going to put it in a bin when she was threatened with a knife not to do that. They were using the dog poo bin as a drugs drop.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: ” Tackling anti-social behaviour in our communities is a priority. We started to see an increase in incidents in the Severn Road area, and proactively tackled this through local patrols, working with South Holland District Council, and acting on other intelligence and policing tactics.
“This work is ongoing, and we would encourage people to come forward with reports of anti-social behaviour so we can continue to stamp it out in their community.”
