Bio gas HGV fuelling station part of Pinchbeck plans

A briefing has been held to tell residents more about plans for an anaerobic digestion plant in Pinchbeck.

People were invited to The Woodlands Hotel on Wednesday to hear from representatives of JH Walter on behalf of developers ET Biogas Ventures, who want to create the new plant off Wardentree Lane, next to the existing Greencore factory.
If given the go ahead the plant would take in a mix of locally grown energy crops and waste from nearby food factories, which would then be anaerobically broken down to create biomethane.
The gas would be provided to the national grid network and would supply a new on-site bio gas vehicle fuelling station for use by local HGVs.
Byproducts from the process would be returned to local growers as an organic fertiliser.
The plan has been submitted to Lincolnshire County Council.
If given the go-ahead it is hoped the plant could be up and running by the end of the year or the beginning of 2016.
