LETTER: What building was on the Spalding site?

Your article on the proposed new building at one corner of the Sheep Market, records a claim by the developer’s consultant that ‘historic documents show a large imposing building on the site previously’. What building was that? I can remember the site well from the 1930s onward, and there was no building on that corner during that time. There was ...

LETTER: Post Office demand is increasing

Further to the news that the Co-op is now not proposing to re-open the Post Office service at the revamped Whaplode Service station, I agree with Councillor Malcolm Chandler that this is a short sighted decision. With the level of new housing that is being proposed and built in Whaplode, the demand for the Post Office service is increasing. If ...

LETTER: Miracle on the A17

A “minor miracle” occurred just the other day on the A17, east bound, from the Holbeach roundabout. As I joined the lengthy queue of vehicles crawling along at 10mph behind a slow-moving tractor, the traffic suddenly started to make good progress. I could see that up ahead said tractor had actually pulled into a lay-by to enable vehicles to pass. ...

LETTER: Why is it so hard to fix?

WHY? Do we have to jump through so many hoops to organise a simple community event? Don’t the county council fix the crumbling road infrastructure or fail ...

LETTER: Loss of sovereignty

Last week, we were ‘treated’ to the thoughts of Mr Alan Meeking in promoting his Remain agenda. He has however indulged in obfuscation for his figures and definitions. Most of the quoted estimates for the recent London march were around the 700,000 mark. Mr Meeking claims ‘perhaps over 1,000,000…’ I am not in a position to challenge or comment on ...

LETTER: Lightbulb moment over street lights

I read with interest your article “Street Lights need time to adjust clocks” (The Voice, October 25) and the ridiculous comment made by Coun.
