Provisional results from 36 out of 39 sixth forms in Lincolnshire show an increase in A-level passes and an increase in higher level grades awarded.

The pass rate for A-levels in Lincolnshire schools reached 99 per cent and is 0.9 per cent above the national figure.

Fourteen schools achieved 100 per cent of pass grades including Spalding High School and the Sir John Gleed School, Spalding.

When the results of students undertaking programmes that are equivalent to A-levels are included, there is also an improvement of 0.9 per cent in pass grades awarded.

The percentage of entries achieving the highest grade of A* grade continues to rise and at 8.2 per cent is in line with the national figure.

Eleven Lincolnshire schools achieved a percentage of A* grades above the national average, with nine achieving over ten per cent of the highest grade.

A spokesman for Spalding Grammar School said: “Once again it is very pleasing for everyone involved with the school to see the students’ hard work has been justly rewarded.

“The students, parents and staff can feel immensely proud of not only their academic achievements, but also the way they have enriched the lives of the school community during their time here.”

Students at New College Stamford were flushed with success after receiving their A-Level results.

The teenagers are now planning the next stages of their lives, with many preparing to go off to university, some opting for apprenticeships and others going onto further courses.

The college celebrated 100 percent success rates in Maths, Chemistry, Computing, Business Studies, 3D, Communication/Culture, Film Studies and Theatre Studies.

It is the third consecutive year that all students who studied Chemistry, Business Studies and Theatre Studies have passed with flying colours.

Sarah Young, Director of Learning at New College Stamford, said: “Once again we have recorded some excellent results, so congratulations must go to all of our A-Level students who have worked so hard, and their tutors who have supported and encouraged them during the past two years.

“We wish everyone well in their chosen studies and careers.”

Following last year’s 100 per cent pass rate, Boston College A-level students achieved another year of amazing results, with the majority gaining places at their first choice university.

With almost half the students gaining A*-B grades and many students achieving A grades and A* in Mathematics, Economics and Psychology, students will look forward to a bright future, whether that be in Higher Education, further skills training or straight in to employment.

A spokesman said: “These results are a true reflection of the hard work put in by the students and staff over the last two years at the College.”

Sir John Gleed School headteacher Will Scott is delighted with the BTEC results earned by students at South Holland Post 16 Centre.

He said: “With a 100 per cent pass rate and 64 per cent gaining Distinction* Distinction which is the equivalent of A*-A and 75 per cent with Merit or better (equivalent to B and above), these results show the culmination of hard work and determination by our students in Business Studies, Child Play Learning and Development, Health and Social Care, Public Uniformed Services and Sport.”
