The Voice of Spalding and South Holland
A pair of 2-0 away wins on Saturday kept in-form Spalding United and Hollbeach United on track for success this season.
The Tulips leapt up to fourth place in Evo-Stik First Division South play-off spot with victory at lowly Stocksbridge Park Steels, while the Tigers continued their pursuit of the UCL Premier Division title with a win at Eynesbury Rovers.
Pat Rayment’s side are now unbeaten in eight league matches – seven of those being wins. Their last defeat was 4-3 at Sheffield FC on October 3.
At Stocksbridge, Lewis Webb (27) gave them a lead at half-time which was doubled by Jamie Thurlbourne just four minutes after the break.
Holbeach United – second in the division – are in good form too. Jamie Clarke put them ahead at Eynesbury in the 24th minute, with Lee Dube setting up Lee Beeson to secure the win.
It’s as you were at the top of the table with leaders AFC Rushden and Diamonds and third-placed Yaxley also winning.
