Plucking brilliant charity haul

A sell-out charity concert by the Ukelele Orchestra of Spalding raised an astonishing £4,000 for charity.

Several members of orchestra went back to the South Holland Centre venue to present the impressive amount to the East Midlands Alzheimer’s Society last week.

The orchestra members covered the cost of hiring the venue and the services of the centre staff, to ensure 100 per cent of ticket sales for this tenth anniversary concert would go directly to the Alzheimer’s Society, along with all raffle proceeds.

The cheque was gratefully received by the charity’s regional fund raising manager, Oliver Larkin, on Tuesday, November 6.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Spalding play Moulton Community Centre at 7pm, this Saturday (November 17). Tickets cost £5 and can be bought on the door.
