No need to bin crisp packets with Holbeach collection point

Crisp packet recycling is now available in Holbeach.

Holbeach Parish Councillor Isobel Hutchinson, chair of properties, has set up the local Parish Council offices at 11 West End, Holbeach as a collection point for the Walkers crisp packet recycling scheme. It is the first registered collection point in the town.

Coun Hutchinson said: “We are always getting appeals for funds from groups across the parish and we know that monies are tight for a lot of people, including us. When I looked into where I could recycle my crisp packets the nearest point was Outwell or Stamford and action needed to be taken. I registered the Parish Council Offices at 11 West End, Holbeach, so that everyone and anyone can bring their packets here.”

The council will choose causes from applications for money raised.

“The clerk and I are happy to work with local businesses and community groups to collect from satellite sites to take all the work out of it and help us get the benefit distributed around the community. The council has taken steps to reduce their environmental impact using tablets instead of print outs and going onto Facebook to reduce paper usage but there is always more we can do. This felt like a simple step to change the environmental impact of Holbeach, for Holbeach”

The scheme has started so take your empty crisp packets to the council offices and drop them in the box behind the door.
