LETTER: Fantastic night of fireworks

Despite the weather being damp and windy I managed to get some pictures of the fireworks display at West Pinchbeck on Bonfire Night. I have to say the community had put together a good display with fantastic food and there was lots to chose from. It all looked delicious. There was mulled wine, cups of tea and coffee and juice ...

LETTER: Maybe a weight limit would help?

I read with interest, Nigel Pepper’s letter on the trial at the A16 Radar Junction with James Road. It seems that local people are now to be penalised with journeys that will take longer to reach Crowland and return, while people from outside the area will still be able to reach Peterborough and return without any inconvenience at all. As ...

The outsourcing of pain relief treatment in Lincolnshire has led to thousands being behind the treatment they need, it’s been claimed. LETTER: Bid to become 51st state

Yet again we have the stock Conservative answer to everything. If only we could bring back flogging and hanging we could have royal parades and spectacles every month, life could be even better than that promised by our duplicitous fantasising Prime Minister and his vision of life outside the EU. Harsh uncaring political policies have caused upheaval and strife in ...

LETTER: Incensed at parking rises

I am, and I’m sure others will be, incensed after reading your report of the huge rises in car parking soon to be imposed in Spalding. Percentage rises of the scale proposed are disgusting and allied to the imposition of unwanted, technically advanced meters. The recent thoughts of Parliament’s Transport Committee have recently realised that car parking charges are major ...

LETTER: Grants should be used

As an ex chairperson of a parish council I cannot understand why wind farm grants that have building up for years due lack of usage request from residents can’t be used for projects rather than inflicting increased costs to residents for new buildings and street lighting (which when asked many people don’t want additional lighting) which make this an ineffective ...

LETTER: Junction not fit for purpose

The A16 “Radar Corner” junction is back in the news. This time because of an impending trial to put a central barrier the length of the junction and introduce a 40mph speed limit.
