Twelve pubs in four hours – time for a treasure hunt

treasurehunt smallIt’s that time of year again ladies and gents when The Punchbowl holds its annual treasure hunt for all the local pubs in town.

The idea of the treasure hunt is not only to be a fun day had by all involved but also to bring more custom into the pubs around town than there would usually be on a Sunday afternoon.

This year the treasure hunt takes place on Sunday, July 20, starting at 2pm.

The same format will be in place in which you get a team of five to represent your pub.

Each team starts in their own pub and will be given a treasure hunt pack.

The team is only allowed this pack once they have each bought a drink.

The pack will contain a route which must be followed, an answer sheet, a scavenger hunt sheet, and the first set of questions which have to be answered in that pub.

Once all questions are answered the team can move on to the next pub on their route.

Again when they get to the next pub five drinks must be bought before the questions will be given out.

When all 12 pubs on the list have been visited, drinks bought and clues solved, teams will hand in their completed question sheets and scavenger items to Ben at the Punchbowl.

This must be completed by 6pm.

The presentations for best fancy dress and the winning team will be made at the Punchbowl in the evening.

There will also be a chilli eating competition at the Punchbowl after the treasure hunt and anyone who wants to enter should mark it on the back of the team sheet.

Teams must be registered by Friday and it costs £10 a team to enter.

Team sheets are available from The Punchbowl.
