Town up to second after winning draw at Boro’

Thivanka Rajatne put in a man-of-the-match performance for Spalding Town on Saturday – hitting 82 runs and taking five wickets in a winning draw at Billingborough.

Spalding were dismissed for 212, with veteran Roy Tilley taking five for the home side while captain Steve Scott ensured his side took 11 points from the game with an unbeaten 57 which saw Billingborough reach 178 for nine.

The winning draw (7) leaves Rob Ambrose’s side second in the table, just ten points behind leaders Bracebridge Heath.
