Michael Morris receives his award at the FHT Excellence Awards in London.

Tonic Health owner recognised as a top therapist

Spalding business owner Michael Morris has been named FHT Complementary Therapist of the Year at a national awards ceremony.

Organised by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the event recognises high-calibre practitioners, students and tutors working in the complementary, holistic beauty and sports therapy industries.

Michael, of Tonic Health, said: “I’m really thrilled to receive this award as it celebrates my hard work and effort over the last 20 years of study, practice and running a business.
“It is a wonderful achievement to receive this award from a leading organisation in the industry and in front of a prestigious group of people.
“I hope this recognition will help push me further, and inspire others to move their own practice, learning and development to the next level.”

As well as running a busy practice at Broadgate House in Westlode Street, where Michael personally treats about 40 clients a week, he also trains people in Bowen therapy and is currently gathering data for one of the largest Bowen studies to date, involving more than 800 subjects.

Earlier this year, he transferred his clinic business into a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and has raised more than £25,000 to deliver projects within his local community. This included dementia, mental health and children’s projects, and a free health promotion day, an event open to the public.

FHT president Paul Battersby said: “These awards are designed to recognise individuals and businesses that are excelling in therapy practice and education.
“Winners like Michael should be exceptionally proud to be selected from a pool of high-calibre peers, in a ceremony that is recognised across the industry.”
