A statue that celebrates a historic Spalding event has been unveiled.
The Hiring, by Laury Dizengremel, was unveiled during a ceremony in Hall Place during Bank Holiday Monday, in front of around 80 people.
Representatives from the Spalding and District Civic Society were joined by a number of guests+.
The sculpture depicts the traditional hiring of staff by the local farming community.
Civic Society president John Charlesworth said he hopes it will hope bridge a local history gap: “We hope that it will give people a sense of the past, especially younger and newer members of our community.”
