Rachel Mayfield, editor of the Spalding and South Holland Voice, receives toys from Santa and Rotarians Steve Colby and Malcolm Biggadike.

Thanks for amazing toy appeal support

It’s shaping up to be the best year ever for our Give a Gift appeal thanks to your generous donations.

The gifts have been flooding in but please keep giving – every donation ensures a child receives a present to open on Christmas Day, when they otherwise wouldn’t.
In the last week The Rotary Club of South Holland visited the Voice office, along with Santa, to donate £150 worth of gifts, local businessman Chris Edwards gifted four boxes full of toys, Sandra and Michael Dawson, from Bicker Church, bought in four large bags full of gifts collected through an appeal at the church and Pinchbeck firm Steadfast Training, donated 40 toys which were collected instead of holding a staff Christmas party.
That’s along with scores of donations from our lovely readers.
Launched by Coun Harry Drury and supported by the Spalding Voice, the appeal makes a huge difference to local struggling families.
Due to overwhelming support we are extending the appeal closing date to Friday, December 17.
We ask you to please not giftwrap your present to allow it to be assessed to be given to a suitable child.
We are also accepting soft toys bearing the kitemark for Donate A Cuddle.
The presents go to South Holland and Boston Child Services to distribute in time for Christmas. We are also taking referrals so if you know a family that needs support through the appeal please email
rachel@spaldingvoice.co.uk in complete confidence.
Collection points are The Spalding and South Holland Voice; DGG Property Consultants; Spalding Fire Station (go to the reception door or leave gifts in the porch); Courtyard Footcare, Health and Beauty, and Sainsbury’s.
