Tee-mendous boost for charity

Golfers have set temperatures rising at a Spalding charity that helps bring the town’s elderly together.

The seniors’ section at Spalding Golf Club have clubbed together to raise a fantastic £3,000 for The Meadows.
And the charity has used the money to fund a much-needed replacement boiler as well as a new cooker.
The centre can continue to put on events and meals for those who might otherwise be on their own at its base off Park Road.
Maisie Wenham, of the management team at The Meadows, said: “The golf club has put on various different fundraising events to support us and we are extremely grateful for their generosity and kindness, and also the generosity of everyone who has contributed to the fantastic £3,000 in any way.
“Special thanks also to Alan Pritchard for his individual extra fundraising and everyone who sponsored him and a big thank you to Monty Brittain and Trevor Thorley too.”
