Stellar showing from Spalding RFC as Bakewell are battered in season opener

Spalding RFC made the best possible start to the new Midlands Three East (North) season as they romped to a bonus-point victory over Bakewell Mannerians on Saturday.

The Elephants roared to a 69-14 success at the Memorial Field, which puts them top of the embryonic league table.
