Spot-on Davies gets Holbeach United back to winning ways against rivals FC Parson Drove

An early penalty from Cal Davies got Holbeach United back to winning ways in Thurlow Nunn League Division One North as they edged out FC Parson Drove 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Having lost back-to-back games against Debenham and AFC Sudbury Reserves following their opening day win, the Tigers rediscovered their form to win their first genuine derby clash of the season.

The clash was settled in the opening exchanges, with Davies making no mistake from the penalty spot to get his fourth league goal of the season.

The win elevates Holbeach up into sixth place in the early standings ahead of their FA Vase game against Pinchbeck United on Saturday (3pm).

  • Holbeach United Reserves enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Leverington Sports in the PDFL Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Moulton Harrox were also on winning form, beating Tydd 3-2 in a derby at Broad Lane.
