Spalding United boss Easton happy for his players to put their feet up this weeknd

Spalding United manager Matt Easton reckons that it is a “blessing in disguise” that his team have a weekend off.

The Tulips are without a BetVictor NPL South East Division fixture until next Saturday’s trip to Worksop Town (December 7), giving them ample time to lick their wounds following last weekend’s gutting defeat at Frickley Athletic.

Easton’s side sit ninth in the standings and are just six points off a place in the top six, meaning that the busy December schedule will prove crucial in shaping their season.

The chief admits that the break will give the club time to “iron out” a few nagging issues on and off the pitch and will allow him to get the likes of Jenk Acar back on the field.

Easton said: “A weekend off isn’t a bad thing from my point of view.

“A few things need ironing out at the club and hopefully we can get that sorted.

“I’m happy with our position at the moment, we just need to deal with a few issues so we can kick on and look up the table.”
