School’s bright sparks for mental health

Children and staff at John Harrox Primary School in Moulton said “Hello Yellow!” in style last Thursday in support of children’s and young people‘s mental health on World Mental Health Day.

A spokesman for the school said everyone enjoyed taking part in the fundraising event in aid of the Young Minds charity paying £1 to wear something yellow for the day.

Headteacher Daniel Pilsworth said: “The children’s response to today’s event has been amazing. Everyone got into the swing of things and looked fantastic.

“We’ve seen everything ranging from yellow T-shirts, football shirts, right the way through to several Minions and even the odd Pikachu! We are very proud of our children who are always keen to raise funds for a good cause.”

Children also took part in activities designed to develop their awareness of emotional wellbeing as part of their Personal, Social and Health Education.

To find out more about John Harrox Primary School can do so at their open day on Friday, November 8.
