Saturday football: Three-sy for Tigers, late heartbreak for Tulips, Knights edged out

Holbeach United eased to a 3-0 success at Harborough Town on Saturday, while two late goals saw Spalding United slip to a 2-1 loss at Frickley Athletic and Pinchbeck United were beaten by the same score at home against Leicester Nirvana.

Luke Avis, Nick Jackson and Will Bird got the goals for Holbeach as they made it five wins from six games.

Danny Hussey’s side are now fourth in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division table, ten points behind leaders Shepshed Dynamo – who lost for their first time this season at Quorn on Saturday.

Staying in the UCL’s top tier, Pinchbeck remain second-from-bottom after a 2-1 defeat at home against Nirvana.

Patrik Kacirek fired the Knights ahead early on at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, but Craig Maisiri (10) and Deen Master (65) scored to give the away side the points.

Meanwhile, Spalding looked set for a big win at Frickley in the BetVictor NPL South East Division when Kevin Bastos’ first goal for the club put them 1-0 up with 20 minutes to go.

However, two strikes from Jacob Hazel – including an added-time winner – gave Dave Frecklington’s team the points.

More to follow.
