Saturday football: Spalding United’s unbeaten run ends at Khalsa, Pinchbeck United knocked out of county cup

Spalding United’s four-game unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-0 loss at Sporting Khalsa on Saturday, while Pinchbeck United lost 3-0 at Skegness Town to exit the Lincs FA Senior Trophy.

Starting in the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division, the Tulips suffered their first loss since September 25.

First-half goals from James McGrady (6) and Jumaane Meggoe (25) got the job done for Khalsa, leaving Gaby Zakuani’s Spalding in ninth place.

They are back in action on Tuesday night, with Belper Town the visitors at the Sir Halley (7.45pm).

Meanwhile, a Ben Davison hat-trick fired Skegness to victory over Pinchbeck at the Vertigo Stadium.

Former Spalding striker Davison bagged on 15, 52 and 62 minutes to sink the Knights, who also saw new keeper Caleb Pipes-Goulsbra save a penalty from Jonny Lockie.

Holbeach United had no game on Saturday but play at Blackstones in the Lincs FA Senior Trophy on Wednesday (7.45pm).
