Relaunch for youth club on its 70th anniversary

A new era will be ushered in with the relaunch of a youth club which has been entertaining young people for 70 years.

A relaunch day is to be held on Saturday, September 19, to mark a new beginning for Holbeach Youth Club and its home base, which is to be renamed The Holbeach Hub.
It is hoped the event will raise awareness of how important the youth club is in providing a safe place for young people to meet and take part in supervised activities.
By relaunching the Boston Road premises as The Holbeach Hub, it is also hoped to promote the building as a suitable venue for members of the public to hire for a range of activities.
As well as a large room suitable for events, the venue also boasts a three badminton court-sized sports hall, office facilities, kitchen area, wifi, toilets and ample parking.
The hall is run by a group of trustees made up of Tracey Carter, Kay Piccaver, Sally Horne and Nick Worth.
Tracey Carter said: “Holbeach Youth Club has been a long standing feature at the premises, but this year we made the decision to close during the summer holiday to officially relaunch the club in early September.
“We came to this decision as we decided that the club needed to offer more activities to ensure the young people remained safely in the building under constant supervision.
“We would gladly welcome anyone who would be interested in having a chat regarding becoming a volunteer to help us in this project.
“We want to celebrate the building, the youth club and the asset that Holbeach town has by having these facilities available.”
The relaunch day will run from 10am to 4pm and include bouncy castle, face painting, taster sessions in street dance, Zumba, u13 football and other sporting activities, pot painting, refreshments, stalls, music and a bar.
Admission is free.
