The Voice of Spalding and South Holland
Here is your chance to nominate the remarkable people who go the extra mile to make South Holland a place to be proud of.
The new Pride of South Holland Awards have been launched by the Spalding and South Holland Voice and Spalding’s Tulip Radio, in association with Spalding and District Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by South Holland District Council, to celebrate everything that is great about where we live.
We are looking for your nominations in nine categories, ranging from Young Achiever to Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
We want to hear your stories about the people who enhance the lives of others through their efforts – maybe just for a few neighbours or perhaps for South Holland as a whole.
We are also looking forward to hearing of the truly remarkable stories of bravery and courage of some of the people who live here.
Do you know someone who has perhaps risked their own life to save someone else’s? Or has someone you know perhaps showed great courage and fortitude in the face of serious illness or injury?
If so, they could be in line for our Person of Courage Award.
Or maybe you know someone whose contribution is of the quieter kind.
Could someone in your street be deserving of the Caring Neighbour Award for the way they are always there with a friendly smile and the willingness to lend a hand when it’s needed most?
Or do you know an older person who is still achieving great things?
If you know someone who deserves recognition, enter them for a Pride of South Holland award now.
All nominations will be considered by the category sponsors, who will draw up a shortlist of three to go before the judging panel.
Judging will take place at the end of May, in time for a ticket-only awards ceremony in the summer at Spalding’s South Holland Centre.
The event will start with a reception before the ceremony, where local performers will entertain guests and the winners will be presented with a certificate and trophy.

To enter, download and fill in the form and return it to The Voice’s office by 5pm on Wednesday, May 27. Don’t forget to attach a separate sheet with details of why your chosen nominee deserves to win a Pride of South Holland award.
