Police say spate of burglaries targeting elderly people could be linked

Lincolnshire Police are investigating a spate of burglaries they believe could be linked and where the victims were all of retirement age.

Gold, jewellery and silverware were taken in the incidents two of which took place in Spalding.

One occurred between 9.30am and 4.30pm on Friday, June 30 on West Elloe Avenue and another between 9.30am and 7.30pm on Chaldean Way.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “We are investigating two burglaries in Spalding and one in Bourne. Due to the proximity and the method used we believe these incidents could be linked.

“Gold, jewellery, silverware and cash were taken.

“Incident 343 of June 30 happened on West Elloe Avenue in Spalding at some point in the day between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Incident 365 of July 2 relates to Beaufort Drive in Bourne and happened at some point between June 30 and July 2. Incident 402 of July 6 happened on Chaldean Way, Spalding, at some point in the day between 9.30am and 7.30pm.    

“The victims of these burglaries are all of retirement age. In each incident, door locks were snapped to break in to the home.
