PDFL round-up: Woods bags brace for Harrox, Gosling treble inspires Sutton and Earth fires five in Tulips Reserves romp

Dan Woods netted twice as Moulton Harrox beat Sawtry 4-3 on Saturday to stay top of the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division.

Joe Townsend and Louis Steadman also notched for Moulton at Broad Lane, but they had their work cut out after Jake Mason was sent off.

Harrox are three points clear of perennial rivals Netherton United at the top of the table, having played a game more.

They visit Langtoft United in the President Premier Shield on Saturday (1.30pm).

Also in the top flight, Holbeach United Reserves moved up to seventh in the table after beating Deeping Rangers Reserves 5-3.

Cal Davies (2), Dean Elston, Jonny Allen and Gary Chappell all netted for the Tigers at Carter’s Park.

Meanwhile, Sutton Bridge United’s fine form in the top flight continued as they held much-fancied ICA Sports to a 1-1 draw. Jake Lally bagged for Bridge, who are fifth.

In Division One, a Tom Gosling hat-trick fired Long Sutton Athletic to a 4-0 win over Uppingham Town. Davy Shepherd also notched for the Magpies, who are second in the table.

Defending Division One champions Moulton Harrox beat current leaders Peterborough Polonia 2-1 in the Chairman Championship Shield thanks to a Danny Lambe-Hyner double.

Elsewhere, Declan Earth fired five goals as Spalding United Reserves won 9-0 at Sawtry Reserves. Levi Butland, Charlie Dhanji, Rafal Marczewski and Dan Mason got the other goals for the Tulips.

In the same division, Spalding Town were hammered 5-0 at Netherton United A.

Down in Division Three, Holbeach Bank bounced back from their tough start to beat Farcet United 7-0 with Danny Hunt (2), Tyger Atkin, Andy Baker, George Leatherland, Warren Skeels and Jonny Warfield all netting.

Whaplode Drove, meanwhile, were 7-4 winners at Thorpe Wood thanks to a four-goal haul from Harry Grigas.

In Division Four, James Woods and Max Burrell both hit braces as Tydd St Mary Reserves beat Netherton B 6-0, while Holbeach United A went down 5-2 at home to FC Peterborough Reserves.

In Division Five, Spalding United A lost 9-1 at home to AFC Orton.
