PDFL round-up: Nice and three-sy for Moulton Harrox in cup semi-final

Moulton Harrox booked their place in the final of the PFA Senior Cup with an impressive 3-0 victory over Stamford Lions on Saturday.

Declan Earth (35), Marcus Parry (60) and Tom Panton (79) grabbed the goals in front of a crowd of 114 at Broad Lane for Kev Nottingham’s side, setting up a final with Whittlesey Athletic.

That clash is currently scheduled to take place at Nene Valley Community Centre on May 11 (5.30pm).

Back in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division, Harrox saw their lead cut to six points after Peterborough Sports Development crushed champions Netherton United 5-1.

At the other end of the table, struggling Long Sutton Athletic remain in the bottom three after a 1-1 home draw against Leverington Sports.

James Ward netted for the Magpies, who are 14th in the standings.

It was also 1-1 as Tydd were held by hosts Oakham United, despite Jake Clitheroe’s first-half opener.

In Division One, Crowland Town suffered a 2-1 reverse at Eye United. Stephen Wells had given them a half-time lead.

Down in Division Two, struggling duo Whaplode Drove and Spalding Athletic both suffered defeats.

Whaplode, who are tenth, were on the receiving end of an 11-0 reverse at Netherton United Reserves.

Athletic, two points off the foot in 12th, were handed a 2-0 home beating by Ketton Reserves.

Meanwhile, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were 1-0 winners at FC Peterborough Reserves in Division Three.

Fellow South Holland side Holbeach Bank are in the bottom two after being thumped 7-0 at Oundle Town Reserves.

Down in Division Four, there was a derby duel between Holbeach United Sports and Tydd Reserves.

It was hosts Holbeach who prevailed 3-0 thanks to goals from Michael Bailey, Kyle Compton and Billy Barnes, but both Fenn Storey (Sports) and Ryan Ingle (Tydd) were sent off.
