PDFL round-up: Crowland tame Lions to get back to winning ways, rare Coddington hat-trick

Two goals from Danny Firth helped Crowland Town pick up an eye-catching 3-1 win over Stamford Lions on Saturday.

They bounced back from a first ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division loss of the season to rack up a third win, with Stephen Wells the other scorer at Snowden Field.

The victory leaves Crowland fourth in the table, two places and three points ahead of Long Sutton Athletic after they went down 2-1 at home to Peterborough North End Sports.

Sandwiched between those two are Holbeach United Reserves, who sit fifth after a 1-1 draw at Ketton.

Kyle Compton was the scorer for the Tigers, who remain unbeaten this season.

In Division One, Ashley Coddington scored a very rare hat-trick as Moulton Harrox Reserves beat Warboys Town 4-2 at Broad Lane.

The defender netted a trio of headers, with Declan Earth the other scorer for second-placed Harrox.

In the same division, Pinchbeck United Reserves suffered a 6-2 home reverse against Wittering Premiair.

Connor Bell and Rowan Woodward got the goals for the Knights, but the table-toppers were just too strong – aided by four goals from Lee Croft.

Also beaten were Crowland Town Reserves, who went down 2-1 at Kings Cliffe and sit 12th.

One of the sides below them are rock-bottom Tydd, who suffered a fourth loss from as many games.

Timmy Magnus’ goal couldn’t stop them losing 2-1 at home to Oundle Town.
In Division Two, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves enjoyed a 5-1 win at Oakham United Reserves.

Jack Greenacre (2), Lewis Machin and Jack Semmence were among the scorers for the Magpies.

However, Holbeach United Sports suffered a 3-1 home reverse at the hands of Orton Rangers, despite a goal from Mark Lovelace.

Down in Division Three, Tydd Reserves enjoyed their first win of the season as they prevailed 4-2 at Peterborough City.

Elsewhere, Will Kirkham’s goal couldn’t stop Long Sutton A slipping up 2-1 at Whittlesey A in Division Four.

In Division Five, Sutton Bridge United romped to a 3-0 win over Kings Cliffe A with Kurt Scott (2) and Joseph Sutton netting to send them second.
Holbeach Bank lost 4-0 at Weldon United Reserves.
