Murder victim Liz’s puppy was found ‘cowering in crate’

A puppy given to murder victim Liz Edwards as a gift from her loving partner is looking for a new home.

Crossbreed Bebe was found “cowering in a crate” when police arrived at Liz’s Spalding home and found the bodies of her and her 13-year-old daughter Katie.
It is believed, but not confirmed by police, that the pair had been stabbed to death.
The dog, who is just eight months old and was given to Liz by her partner Graham Green, is now with Three Counties Dog Rescue, based in Bourne.
The charity is hoping to find a loving home for the youngster, who they say has “suffered a traumatic event and as a result not behaving like an eight-month-old puppy should”.
A spokesman said: “This isn’t worrying us because already after a few days in foster care with lots of love and cuddles she is coming out of herself and starting to play.
“We expect this only to improve.
“Sadly, although Bebe’s owners are deceased, we know that she was loved and very well cared for.
“This shows in her very sweet loving personality.”
Graham posted this picture on his Facebook page, adding: “My two babes together.
“Liz loved this puppy – she was the best thing I gave her.”
Staff at the rescue centre say because of the traumatic ordeal of being in the house when police found the bodies and carried out the initial investigation, Bebe is now frightened of people in hi-viz clothing.
They said potential new owners would need to be aware if anyone in the family regularly wears that sort of clothing.
They also said it is unknown how Bebe is with other dogs or cats, but due to her young age it is unlikely to be a problem, and they believe she will be fine with children aged over eight who would respect her space.
Three Counties Dog Rescue are looking for someone within a 50 mile radius of Bourne, with a securely fenced garden, to adopt her, saying as she is only a puppy she should not be left alone for more than two hours at a time.
