Man told court he drove under the influence of cannabis because he’d had ‘a bad day’

A Spalding man has been banned for driving under the influence of drugs.

Deivydas Rocys, 20, of Hillary Close, who admitted the offence, was stopped on the A16 Surfleet Road
on September 18 and found to be over the limit for cannabis and to have cannabis in his possession, for
which he had already been given a conditional discharge.

He was said to have been showing a reading of 4.4 micrograms of cannabis in his bloodstream, the legal
limit being two.

Rocys told District Judge Peter Veits, sitting at Boston Magistrates Court that he had been ‘having a bad
day’.

He was banned from driving for a year and was fined £300 and ordered to pay a total of £205 in court
costs and charges.
