Long Sutton cannabis and cocaine dealer behind bars

A drugs dealer caught twice within 48 hours with a stash has been jailed for 30 months.

Owen Reeve was initially stopped by police while driving in Holbeach.
Prosecutor Mark Knowles told Lincoln Crown Court that officers could smell cannabis and when Reeve was told the car was to be searched he produced a bag of cannabis.

A quantity of the drug together with a set of digital scales was also found in the glovebox.
Reeve admitted in interview that the drugs belonged to him and that he sold to friends.

He was bailed pending further inquiries but the following day was arrested again after police were called to an incident at a house in Long Sutton.

Reeve was seen to walk into a property and then emerge carrying a bag before going to a nearby house.
An officer knocked on the front door but Reeve did not answer and instead ran out of the back door. He struggled with officers and dropped the bag before fleeing.

The bag was found to contain 82g of cannabis and 12g of cocaine. Reeve later handed himself in to police.

The 21-year-old, of Garnsgate Road, Long Sutton, admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply on May 12. He also admitted possession of both cannabis and cocaine with intent to supply on May 13.

Sunil Khanna, defending, said Reeve was a drug user who began dealing to fund his habit after losing his job.
He said: “At the time he was sofa surfing with friends.
“He was getting money to fund his habit and getting by on a day to day basis.
“This is not a professional drug dealer selling large amounts to all and sundry.
“He was selling to keep himself going and not to fund a lifestyle. He has no assets. He has no lavish lifestyle.”
