Live music returns to shop

Live music returned to a Spalding record shop recently for a nationwide festival.

Boston band Kings and Bears played an impromptu show at Uptown Vinyl in Baytree Garden Centre, Weston, as part of the BBC’s Airwaves festival.

A host of local radio stations, including BBC Lincolnshire, put on the shows and broadcasted them over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Due to COVID restrictions, Uptown Vinyl couldn’t advertise the fact the band played on Saturday, May 22 but shoppers on the day were treated Kings and Bears’ rock songs.

The three piece’s performance has already been broadcast BBC Lincolnshire and will be available online.

Uptown Vinyl’s Alan Barnsdale said: “The band performed several songs which went down well.

“They would love to come back and perform to an audience once restrictions are lifted.”
