LETTERS – Agree and promote the town

Wouldn’t it be good if the councillors of Spalding could agree and promote this market town?

This town has many interesting and historical features, such as The Forge – a working museum, the beautiful Ayscoughfee Hall and free lovely family orientated gardens with cafe, the Cenotaph designed by one of the 20th century most celebrated architects Sir Edwin Lutyens, Spalding’s Gentlemen’s Society founded in 1710, this is the place to visit if you love history.

Spalding also has the best independent bookshop Bookmark, as well as a nice little tour of the town following the little sculptures.

The shops we have left will provide some of the best customer service in the county (a special mention for Kwik Fit for service over and above). As yet we do still have a market and a river running through the town, plus the popular water taxi.

So why is Springfields promoted over Spalding?

Please South Holland District Council be positive, compulsory purchase the empty buildings of note and let’s have some real energy shown making this a tourist town to be proud of.
