Knights’ revival is stunning

A new-look Pinchbeck United delivered a shock to high-flying Belper United in the United Counties League on Saturday.

Things looked grim when a side featuring five changes to the team beaten 8-0 on their last outing conceded three goals to trail 3-0 after just 24 minutes.
However, loan signing Amada Kanu pulled one back before the break and second-half strikes from Andre Williams and John Yambasu halted the hosts’ charge into the top two of the Premier Division North table.
The Knights were boosted by the return of Neal Spafford, with Josh Simpson making his first start since a lengthy spell out injured.
Kanu was joined in the team by fellow King’s Lynn u23 loanee Collin Skhoyimue, while the Knights have also secured the services of Mamadu Djalo from the Linnets’ junior side.
Pinchbeck were in county cup action on Wednesday against Blackstones.
Knights at Belper: Cox, Simpson, Jaine, Spafford, Skhoyimue, Robson, Kanu, Henderson, Williams, Yambasu, Ibeneme. Subs: Wright, Johnson, Ward, Stevens, Edwards.
Attendance: 74.
