A small slice of normality resumed for Spalding Hockey Club’s players on Saturday as they returned to match action – albeit in the form of inter-club matches.
With the COVID-19 pandemic ending the regular season prematurely at the end of 2020, this was the first chance the players have had to put stick to ball in a competitive manner so far this year.
Three inter-club matches took place at the club’s Glen Park base in Surfleet, including a mixed match, a ladies’ fixture and a men’s contest.
