Historic wartime vehicle makes a splash

Fleet fundraiser Harold Payne took his military vehicles to the coast for day of fundraising in Hunstanton.

Mr Payne raised £2,500 for the Royal Anglian Regiment Benevolent Fund and released 1,000 roses to the sea in honour of the 1,000 Norfolk soldiers captured and killed by the SS at Dunkirk behind enemy lines.

A memorial is planned and 100 people attended a service.

Mr Payne recently raised enough money to once again take veterans back to the battlefield at Normandy, this time for the 75th anniversary, and laid 16,500 roses.
