Gosberton ace Abbi in the thick of the action at Silverstone F4 meeting

Abbi Pulling had an eventful weekend at Silverstone in the F4 British Championship as she put in two solid showings after spinning out of the opening race of the weekend.

Qualifying was incredibly close at the home of British motor racing, with just 0.877secs spanning the 11 drivers on the grid.

Gosberton speedster Pulling qualified sixth for race one and fifth for the third race, with Arden’s Alex Connor on pole for both.

Race one saw just eight cars finish, with JHR Developments racer among those to crash out.

After a thrilling battle with team-mate James Hedley and series leader Luke Browning early on, she was pushing for fourth place before contact saw her spin off at Copse.

Race two saw Pulling starting at the back, but she charged through the field and managed to finish in a very respectable eighth place.

Starting fifth in the finale, she began well before making contact with Browning at Becketts – which saw the South Holland ace slip back to seventh at the chequered flag.

After a short break, the F4 British Championship returns to action at Croft, Yorkshire, over the weekend of 10-11 October.
