GALLERY – Christmas comes to Spalding

Christmas arrived in Spalding at the weekend with a special event in the town centre.

With activities from 4pm to 8pm on Friday and again on Saturday from 10am to 3pm, there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Vintage funfair rides proved popular, as did the visiting cast from this year’s panto Dick Whittington which will be at the South Holland Centre later this month.

“It was fantastic to see so many people coming together in Spalding town centre over the weekend to join in with our Christmas celebration and to help support local shops and market traders during this crucial time of year for them,” said Coun Gary Taylor, portfolio holder for communities.

“It was great to see Spalding so busy and bustling, and we received some great feedback on the event, the activities and performers that were on offer and on the beautiful tree and decorations funded as part of our ongoing town centre improvement plans. Thank you to everyonne who attended, and those who helped to organise and run the celebration.

The council’s Elf Trail in the town continues until Christmas Eve.
