Crystal Ball seeks cause for its proceeds

The popular Crystal Ball is looking for a local children’s charity to benefit from this year’s fundraising event.

Last year’s event, held in November, raised a record-breaking £14,340, bringing the fundraising total to more than £64,000 for the chosen charity, the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

Plans are already underway for the 2019 Crystal Charity Ball and the committee has decided that they would like to consider sharing this year’s fundraising total with a more local children’s related charity.

Lead committee member, Kelly Beba, said: “We started this event in honour of my dad who sadly passed away from lung cancer and we are extremely proud of the money we have raised so far.

“Although we would like this fund raising to continue we felt that it would be a good idea for a more local charity to see the benefit of some of our success.”

Kelly added: “It is hoped that we can link up with a more local charity which could receive a share of any funds raised this coming November, this would preferably be one which benefits children in some way.

“Therefore, we are inviting representatives from suitable charities to submit a request to be considered by our committee.”

If you would like your cause to be considered by the committee, contact the Crystal Ball organisers via email at spaldingcharityball@gmail.com or find the Crystal Ball Facebook page.

In addition, businesses are once again invited to sponsor the ball in a number of capacities.
