More good news, readers’ letters and birth, marriage and death announcements were among the things you said you wanted to see in our Easter survey.

The team here at Spalding and South Holland Voice have been through your answers and are now looking at the ways we can give you more of what you want in your new weekly newspaper.

The paper will be delivered free to 10,000 homes across Spalding every week, and our list of stockists elsewhere in the district is still growing.

And the feedback we have had so far has been phenomenal.

Scores of you have responded to our survey which we published in last week’s newspaper and gave out from our stall on Spalding market over the past two weekends.

And even more of you came to talk to us to tell us you welcome a new free newspaper for South Holland.

And it seems many of you were very impressed with our first edition.

One of those who completed the survey was Jenny Bartlett, of Pinchbeck, whose name was drawn out of the hat to win the second prize of some chocolate goodies in our Easter draw.

She said she was keen to see more happy news stories in the local paper.

The winner of the first prize, of a gardening hamper donated by Birchgrove Garden Centre, Pinchbeck, was Sam Staples, of Spalding.

The third prize went to Debbie Preston, of Spalding, who said she wanted to see more community events, local events and competitions.

Fourth prize went to J Belcher, of Spalding, who wanted to see more information about the regeneration of the town.

The team at Spalding and South Holland Voice thanks you all for your input – keep it coming.

We are always keen to hear what you have to say about what we are doing – good or bad.

Send your comments to info@spaldingvoice.co.uk.

Other suggestions we received during the survey included a gardening section, weekly articles on local markets and shops, property, nights out pictures, car boot sale dates and venues and flood defence information.

But what came over loud and clear from all the surveys was you want to see a good mix of local news and adverts.

We’ll do our best to continue to bring you just that.
