Banned driver was found drunk in car

A 31-year-old Sutton Bridge man found drunk in the driver’s seat of his stationery car while banned from driving has been fined.

Ernestas Montvydas of Granville Terrace, who admitted the offence, was found by police in Ravens
Bank, Holbeach on October 2.

It was said he was slumped in the driving seat of his Ford S Max with the exterior and interior lights on
and the engine running and that he was unsteady on his feet when he got out.

It was said he was arrested after providing a positive breath test with a later reading of 81 microgrammes
of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit being 35.

The magistrates heard that he had been banned from driving until December 2022 for an excess alcohol
offence in 2020.

He was fined £266 and ordered to pay a total of £191 in court costs and charges, 10 penalty points were
put on his licence and he was reminded his driving ban was still in force.
