LETTER: Wheelie bins will be better

The recent coverage of the proposed introduction of a kerbside green waste collection scheme appears to be causing a few problems with people’s dislike of wheelie bins. Having moved to Spalding from a town where wheelie bins were used, I found that even in the terraced housing areas, homeowners found a storage place for their bins so that they caused ...

LETTER: Beware of hidden ‘extras’

We all know there is a fortune to be made in food but to be charged £1.95 for two slices of bread and butter to go with a prawn cocktail, which should be part and parcel of the dish in the first place, is one profitable step too far. So beware when eating at a certain restaurant at Springfields. It’s ...

The recent events in Paris will leave most people horrified and wondering just how vulnerable this country to such a terrorist attack. Within in hours President Hollande closed France’s borders for security ...

LETTER: Lack of respect for the fallen?

I happened to be in the town centre near Boots at 11am on November 11 and was delighted to see the whole area in silence and everyone stood still when the clock chimed. Others who walked into the area soon followed the majority except, sadly, a few non-English people just kept talking and walking through. At the end of the ...
