Appeal after report of concerning behaviour and comments towards school pupil

South Holland Police are appealing for information after a report of an approach to a pupil at University Academy Holbeach yesterday (Tuesday, October 6).

The incident happened at around 8.20am in Park Road in the town.

A social media post from South Holland Police, said: “Officers are investigating a report of a student being approached by a man on Park Road, Holbeach at approximately 8.20am yesterday.

“The man’s behaviour and comments made were of concern. We would ask that anybody who has any information contact us on 101 quoting incident 143 061020.

“If anyone is seen who presents an immediate concern, then please call 999.

“We are working closely with the academy and there will be an increased police presence in the area.”

A University Academy Holbeach message sent to parents said: “It has come to our attention that a man approached one of our pupils yesterday on Park Road on the way to school and attempted to stop her.

“The incident has been reported to the police.

“He is described as in his 40s, of larger build, balding and with greyish hair.

“Members of the public are advised to report any further such concerns immediately to the school and the police.

“Students have been made aware, so please speak to your child about this and if you have any concerns, please contact the school to speak to a member of the senior management team.”
