Woman threatened to slit officers’ throats

A drunken arrested woman told officers at the police station: “I’m going to slit your throat when I’m out of here.”

Alexandra Addison, of Hixs Lane, Tydd St Mary, was so abusive and foul-mouthed while being booked in at the custody suite that she had to be restrained and taken to a cell.

One officer said she was continually aggressive and abusive for 70 minutes.

King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court was told on Thursday that she had made disgusting comments and threats, gesturing to several officers in turn: “And you…and you…and you….”

The 38-year-old had been arrested on August 31 for being drunk and disorderly in Lynn’s Norfolk Street after being refused entry to Bar 100 and becoming abusive to door staff.

She had refused police requests to leave the area.

Addison used a crutch in court. She pleaded guilty to indecent behaviour at a police station and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Mitigating, solicitor George Sorrell said: “She was clearly behaving out of character. A reason for that may have she was in some measure of pain from her disability and the way in which the officers were dealing with her aggravated that.

“At the same time she recognises that her behaviour required that type of handling. It was a kind of Catch 22 situation.”

The bench did not accept that it was out of character as Addison had a similar conviction five years ago

She was fined £200 for the indecent behaviour offence and £40 for being drunk and disorderly.

She was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.
