Whaplode flower festival this weekend

The annual Whaplode St Mary’s Church flower festival begins today (Friday May 25) and runs through to Tuesday.

The festival is open 10am-5pm, except Sunday which is 12.00pm to 5.00pm for the normal Sunday Service at 10.30am which is a Songs of Praise Service. Everyone is welcome to join in with this service celebrating
specially chosen hymns and readings.

As well as floral displays on the theme of ‘Splendid Bible Stories’, there will be flowers and fresh produce for sale, alongside refreshments, bric-a-brac stalls,  live entertainment and tower tours.

Specially arranged children’s activities run from 2pm to 4pm each day.

The Flower Festival weekend concludes with a traditional hog roast on Tuesday, May 29, from
6.30pm. There will also be a raffle.
