Lincolnshire Police have revealed that the victims of two violent fights in Spalding last weekend were foreign nationals.

And patrols will be stepped up in certain areas of the town centre as a precaution.

Police say three three Lithuanian nationals – all living in Spalding – were injured in the incident in Hall Place at 12.45am on Saturday.

Police said: “All required stitches and none of the injuries are life threatening. One arrest was made at the time and enquiries are ongoing. “

Police confirmed both incidents were alcohol related but, at present, there is nothing to connect the two incidents.

“We are investigating the incidents and would ask that anyone with information to come forward. There are likely to be further arrests as the full circumstances become clear.”
