Caring Neighbours are the people who we are looking at with the sponsors this week for the Pride of South Holland Award.

The Pride of South Holland Awards are only a couple of weeks away, tickets are going fast and the judging for the winners has begun.

This week we are looking at the Caring Neighbour Award which is kindly sponsored by Coun Harry Drury.

Last year Maurice Cudd and Jane Hickford were commended for their efforts for being a Caring Neighbour while Jean Andrews was awarded the title and once again we are looking to crown another caring neighbour.

The Caring Neighbour is identifying those who go out of their way to help others in their community in any number of ways, such as with chores, shopping or getting out and about, or simply just being there for a friendly chat or cup of tea.

Coun Drury, from the St Mary’s Ward, said: “Some of the people I come as across on a day-to-day basis are some of the most important people in the community.

“They are an integral part of the community.

“These people go the extra mile to go out of their way to help their neighbours in any way possible.”

If you would like a ticket for the Pride of South Holland Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 18, please call Tulip Radio on 01775 712400 or email admin@tulip-radio.co.uk.

It is aiming to be a great event again this year with another celebrity coming to honour the winners with their award.

Have a look at our website www.tulip-radio.co.uk, picture gallery at last year’s event to give you a flavour of what you can expect this year.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the South Holland Centre, Saturday, June 18, 3pm-5pm.
