Training firm’s the top dogs after scooping national award coup

A Spalding business has been named among the best in the country in their particular field.
Dog Training Made Easy – part of Lincs Training Ltd – scooped third place in a nationwide competition run by the Kennel Club of Great Britain.
The Rutland Close business was competing in the Kennel Club Listed Status Clubs category at the Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme Awards and director Simon Vaitkevicius was delighted with the coup.
He said: “The awards celebrate some of the greatest people and organisations working with dogs.
“The annual prizegiving ceremony recognises the efforts of individuals, canine organisations and local authorities nationwide which have invested their time and energy into helping to train dogs and educate their owners on the importance of responsible dog ownership.
“The Kennel Club has more than 1,800 listed dog training clubs and organisations registered on the scheme.
“We were selected based on our excellent reputation, commitment to professional training, development of young people and promotion of responsible dog ownership.
“We are proud to have been awarded the accolade and would like to thank all of our staff, volunteers and customers.”
The Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme Awards, hosted by the Kennel Club, was set up in 1992 to promote socially acceptable dogs by way of creating responsible dog owners.
Its aim is to provide a quality standard of training for dog and owner and incorporates many domestic obedience exercises.
Now the largest dog training scheme in the country, it has, since inception, issued more than 562,575 certificates of achievement to owners and their dogs who have successfully passed the schemes tests.
The awards were judged by members of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme working party and senior Kennel Club representatives, who admired the dedication of dog training clubs and local authorities.
Kennel Club GCDS working party chairman Maurice Cooke said: “The Good Citizen Dog Scheme Awards provide a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the hard work undertaken by training groups, local authorities and individuals.
“This year’s winners have consistently gone above and beyond to promote responsible dog ownership and deserve to be honoured accordingly.
“The enthusiasm and dedication from those who work tirelessly on behalf of dogs and their owners, helps organisations like the Kennel Club to educate people about responsible dog ownership and canine welfare.
“Massive congratulations to those who won and a huge thank you to everyone who helps make a positive difference to the lives of dogs and their owners.”
