Three figures for accountant John

A birthday card from the Queen and a family gathering in the garden all helped celebrate 100 years for a Pinchbeck man.

John Taylor hit three figures on April 19 and was delighted to receive a card from the Queen despite being in mourning for Prince Philip.

Mr Taylor and his wife, Eve, were able to celebrate in the sunshine with members of their family.

The couple married in 1948 in Yorkshire after meeting at a demob party in Sheerness, Essex.

Mr Taylor was a leading aircraftsman with the RAF during World War Two and his wife was a member of the Women’s RAF.

He was an accountant prior to retiring, working for local companies including Coddington’s in Pinchbeck and Boston.

The couple have two children, Kevin and Yvonne (pictured right), along with six grandchildren and a total of 13 great grandchildren.

Mr Taylor was very well known due to his involvement with the local Boys Brigade and links with Pinchbeck Baptist Church. Their son Kevin is a pastor at South Holland Community Church.
