Lincolnshire County Council highways officers are working to see which scenario works best in conjunction with changes to the traffic signals.

Lights at the Winfrey Avenue junction with Kings Road and Swan Street junction with Station Approach are coming to the end of their life cycle and new arrangements are being investigated.
Although closure of Swan Street to through traffic is an option being considered, an informal consultation by the county council found only 50 per cent support.

Spalding Town Forum has had a demonstration of a computer system being used to try and identify better junction layouts to reduce congestion.
One of the main protagonists for change is forum chairman Coun George Aley, who is pleased with the work being undertaken. Other members agreed it was “very promising”.
