Stunning Shorthouse knock sentences Spalding Town to heavy defeat

Spalding Town suffered a crushing 267-run defeat against Sleaford on Saturday as their hopes of survival in the Lincs ECB Premier League suffered another blow.

Tom Shorthouse hit an unbeaten 203 for Sleaford as they smashed a monstrous 355-2 batting first at Spalding Grammar School, before knocking Town over for a meagre 88.

The double ton was the first from any player in the league since Jim Morgan’s for Grimsby back in 2011.

Spalding are now 33 points adrift at the foot with five games left to play.
