Spalding speedster Sargent stars on top night of action at Adrian Flux Arena

It was a tremendous night of Stock Car action at the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn on Saturday as the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars and MiniStox kicked off their season at the venue – with the 2 Litre Saloons also in action.

And, on a night where some of the best stock car drivers from across the country took part, it was the South Holland drivers who returned home with a number of trophies.

Everything just clicked for the meeting – lots of cars (a host of them new), fresh paint work, great weather and plenty of fans ventured to the arena.

The meeting was, on paper, a great session and it certainly delivered with rave reviews around the packed terracing.

It was the perfect way to kick off the F1 Stock Car season, which many consider the pinnacle of Short Oval racing.

Spalding’s Mark Sargent had a very successful evening in his BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, finishing in the top six in all of his outings.

That included a victory in one of the opening races which saw him battling off the competition from one of the top drivers in the class, shoving him to the fence and out of contention in the last lap in a truly great race that certainly got the crowd pumped.

Mark’s son, Finn Sargent, also showed some form with an 11th and ninth place on the evening too, making it a great meeting for the family.

Tom Yould, also from Spalding continued his winning form after his Mildenhall outing two weeks ago. He also went on to take a win to keep the flag flying for Spalding and also finished on the podium of his opening race too for good measure.

The Spalding drivers’ form continued in the MiniStox class, which is for 11-15 year olds.

Charley Tomblin picked up top ten finishes in all of his races, with his highest result being a fourth.

But it was Liam Waterfall who picked up the best results, including a victory in a preliminary race. He followed this up with third spot in their main race of the night, which saw all of the top drivers battling it out.

The next action from Trackstar at the Adrian Flux Arena is this Saturday (5.30pm). It’s an ‘All Banger’ night, which includes Mk 1 Almera and all Sunny Bangers, Micro Bangers and Junior Bangers.

With more than 180 cars booked in, a big night of Banger action and entertainment awaits.
